Garden Society For Your Guests: A Holiday Pairing Guide

Cannabis Combinations for Everyone at the Holiday Table

Each holiday season we read the same wine and beverage pairing guides designed to compliment our entertainment and meals; so this year we decided to create our own. However, instead of pairing your favorite cannabis products with everything from roasted goose to chocolate moose, we decided to match Garden Society with the adults at your table, from the canna-confident cousins to all the canna-curious members of your holiday troupe. So come on over and make yourself at home, we set a special place for cannabis at our table and have room for one more. Come join us for a winter holiday garden party.

Setting the Stage

When it comes to entertaining, presentation is key. We’ve salvaged many an overcooked entree by jazzing them up with a little extra sauce and creative garnishes, just as we’ve coerced guests into trying new foods by creatively incorporating them into a dish. We love to set the stage with a table with a few boughs of Scarlet Firethorn to make things pop. However, when it comes time to put out the cutlery we’ll be inserting a pre-rolled Garden Society Rosette into every napkin ring on the adult table. With the days of puff, puff, pass in the rearview mirror, this holiday season provides the perfect opportunity to tailor our full flower cannabis specifically for each guest. Because, as the saying goes: “Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.”

The Old Timer

We all have the wacky uncle who launches into the speech about how he used to smoke “back in the good ol’ days when cannabis was natural and not like all that science experiment stuff you kids smoke now.” Which is about the time we hand him a Brighter Day Rosette and explain how Garden Society was founded on the principles of uncompromising quality, responsible farming, sustainable ingredients and strain-specific cannabis like the uplifting sativa dominant pre-roll he’s about to enjoy. “Trust us,” we assure him, “it’s much higher quality than what your highschool friends were growing in their garage.”

The First Timer

Your great aunt might do a double take when she sees a ‘joint’ sitting on the table but a reassuring smile can help set her at ease. Once she looks around and notices all the adults have a Rosette with their name on it, she’ll sit back and relax, or at least she will soon. We’ve carefully selected the High CBD Rosette or our new Sparkling Strawberry Rosé Gummies for the less experienced guests at the table. Our blend of sungrown Mendocino and Sonoma cannabis contains a 15:1 CBD to THC ratio so guests can relax but remain clear headed and the Gummies are fast acting as to not offer any surprises later in the evening.

The Cannaseur

Chances are by the time our cousins show up, they’re probably several hits into their live resin pen. They can rattle off the terpene profiles of their favorite strains and how many milligrams an edible needs to contain before they feel any effects. They’ve also stopped at Whole Foods to pick up sugar cookies on the way over and are already two bottles of nitro cold brew into their afternoon. So, we’ll swap out their Hash Rosettes from Brighter Day to Blissful Rest in an effort to mellow them out a touch. It’s the perfect combination of full-flower, sungrown cannabis sourced from premier Sonoma and Mendocino County farms and dry-sift hash made in-house. Voila. Comment on the subtle lavender notes from the linalool terpenes as they enjoy the aromatic herbal undertones of mint and sage and they’ll rediscover their love for fresh flower.

The Nonsmoker

Not everyone finds joy in smoking cannabis. Even a few puffs is enough to send our mother-in-law into a coughing fit that starts to draw sideways glances. For her we’ve set out a  fair-trade, artisan crafted, cannabis chocolate from Sonoma County. Since it’s early in the evening we’ve paired her with a Spiced Dark Chocolate with Chili or our new Peach Prosecco Wine Country Gummies to keep her uplifted. Each chocolate edible contains 10mg of THC from full spectrum sativa dominant cannabis and features a hint of cayenne pepper and New Mexico chile powder for just the right balance of sweet and heat or the new Wine Country Gummies complement any sweet and effervescent personalities at the table.

The HIGHlight of the Evening

Somewhere in between soup, dinner rolls and debates about whether it’s time to take the foil off the turkey in the oven, we’ll all take a walk to the garden to stretch our legs and enjoy those Rosettes we’ve been patiently preserving for the last two hours. As we pass around a lighter and watch the sky change from sapphire to peach we take a moment to reflect on how thankful we are to be enjoying this moment together. We’re thankful for our health, our family, our friends, and all those who have injected bits of joy into an uncharted year. From all of us at Garden Society we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with laughter and joy, we wouldn’t be sitting here without you. Bon appetit!
